Product details
The first Chelsea Flower Show in 1862 was originally called the Royal Horticultural Society's Great Spring Show and was held at the RHS garden in Kensington. It wasn't until 1913 that the show moved to its current site in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea. London Transport promoted the Chelsea Flower Show at various times during the 1920s and 1930s by producing small posters for fixing inside buses, trams and Underground trains.
The event became so popular that public transport posters were no longer deemed necessary to promote the Show. However, for the 150th anniversary of London Underground in 2013, it was agreed that a poster be produced to celebrate Chelsea Flower Show once more, and Paul Vizzari illustrated each of the lines of the tube map in an appropriate and botanically correct floral repeating motif..
