The Cycling for Pleasure poster is one of four posters designed by the Easy Tiger Creative exclusively for the London Transport Museum. Easy Tiger are one of London's leading design agencies and have worked on a vast number of projects. Most recently they received acclaim for the revitalised, Bristol-based SS Great Britain, the historic ship designed in 1843 by Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
Four new cycling posters are the latest in the Transport Art series commissioned by London Transport Museum for display in London Underground stations.
With a backdrop of Soho's famous Chinese arch in Gerrard Street, the pleasures of using bikes to explore London's infinitely varied tourist attractions are obvious. All posters in this series feature some print colour in fluorescent ink accentuating the importance of cycle safety.
Cycling in London has become a major priority for London's Mayor and Transport for London. Special cycle lanes have been introduced to segregate motor traffic from cyclists and to encourage many more Londoners to cycle for work and leisure. As part of the initiative, the Cycle Hire scheme was also instigated by Transport for London and is now sponsored by Santander Bank.
