Blackberry time, by Herry Perry, 1931

The Underground Electric Railways Company published this beautiful poster in 1931. It was designed by Herry Perry, who produced a significant number of posters for the Underground Group, 54 in total. The blackberry season starts in July and continues into early November and this poster uses autumnal colours to represent this. Posters like this were designed to remind Londoners of the abundance of countryside and parks surrounding them. There is no specific travel information, just the suggestion of a trip to pick blackberries.

Heather Perry designed posters for the Underground Group and London Transport between 1928 and 1937.

Heather Perry (known as Herry Perry) studied at the London School of Arts where she specialised in wood carving, though she became a designer of posters, pub signs and playing cards. She was born in 1893 and designed an amazing number of iconic posters for London Transport and the Underground Group.

To make a return, please follow our instructions below:

1. Send an email to [email protected] within 14 days of receiving your goods to notify us of the return.
2. Return the item(s) to the address below within 28 days of receiving the item/s. Please make sure to include your order number. Clothing items which are being returned due to incorrect sizing can be returned opened as long they are unworn, and the tags are attached.
3. The return shipment cost must be paid by you and will not be covered by the London Transport Museum, unless the item is faulty. We would recommend that you use recorded delivery.
4. Once the returned item/s has been received and processed by our warehouse, we will issue you a refund within 14 working days.
