Whitsun is the seventh Sunday after Easter which commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon Christ’s disciples.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eEdward McKnight Kauffer designed posters for the Underground Group and London Transport between 1915 and 1939.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eBorn in 1890 in Great Falls, Montana, USA, Edward Kauffer studied art at the Mark Hopkins Institute in San Francisco, and then in Paris in 1913, where he was sponsored by Professor McKnight of the University of Utah. In 1914 he came to London, and the following year was commissioned by Frank Pick to design his first poster.
