She works in a traditional way, paint on paper, her sketchbook provides much of the inspiration for her work. Since graduating she has undertaken commissions for the publishing, editorial, product and advertising sector. Ruth won the Gold Advertising Award from the AOI (Association of Illustrators) exhibition, Images 36: The Best of British Illustration 2012.
