After discussion, Transport for London and Esther easily decided to choose Southall (a vital West London suburb with a large South Asian community) to feature fabric shopping with more than a passing reference to richness of South Asian fabrics for sale in the many colourful shops to be found there. Esther also paid homage in her new work to the famous London Underground Summer Sales poster of 1924 which highlighted shoppers sifting through colourful piles of clothes.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEsther is a graphic artist whose work focuses on illustration and textile design. Colour and pattern are guiding forces in both her professional and personal practice where the handmade and accidental are celebrated. An exploratory approach has seen her work applied from books to set design in just a few years of professional practice.
